HIV Testing and Counseling
CAL-PEP provides Free Rapid HIV Testing using the OraQuick Rapid HIV-1 Antibody Test.
Rapid HIV Testing is administered both in the CAL-PEP office and in our mobile units at various locations in the community. Rapid HIV Testing is free of charge both in the office and in our mobile units. It is available to everyone without any restrictions or limitations.
The OraQuick Rapid HIV-1 Antibody Test detects antibodies to HIV by taking an oral sample from the gum lining of the participant. No blood sample is necessary. The results are available in twenty minutes.
Rapid HIV Testing takes place in on our mobile unit three days a week as well as every other Saturday. The time and location CAL-PEP provides this service changes on a weekly basis.
